Scaling a Global GxP Auditing Consultancy to Acquisition

UK-based global GxP auditing consultancy

Context
The initial engagement was to support the recruitment of experienced GCP and GVP Auditors to meet growing client demand. During this phase, I developed a close working relationship with the individual responsible for coordinating auditor recruitment, which led to a direct introduction to the founder and CEO.

As the business’s ambitions expanded, it became clear that additional operational leadership was required to support international scale-up.

Expanded Engagement
I was subsequently tasked with identifying and recruiting a Chief Operating Officer to help professionalise and scale the organisation globally.

The search was completed successfully. The appointed COO went on to build the operational infrastructure required to support sustained growth and played a central role in positioning the business for a high-value acquisition.

Ongoing Support
In the period leading up to the acquisition, I continued to support the business with a number of strategically important hires, including:

 

  • Senior GVP Auditors, including the individual who is now the company’s Managing Director

  • Additional GCP Auditors to support global client delivery

  • A Business Development Director to strengthen commercial capability


Impact
This work supported the business at a pivotal stage in its evolution: moving from a founder-led consultancy to a scaled, acquisition-ready organisation with the leadership and delivery capability to operate globally.

Following the acquisition, I continue to work with the business leader I placed in his subsequent venture, reflecting the long-term nature of the relationships built during this engagement.
